my favorite place to get teriyaki fried rice while i'm in knoxville for college!! so glad i was able to find a restaurant that is as good or even better than back home. good price & amazing food!!
Tried Hungry Sumo for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was flavorful and fresh. The steak stood out the most. Super tender and perfectly cooked, definitely outshined the chicken for me. Overall, a solid experience and I’ll definitely be back for more! ⸻ Want a version with a bit more personality or tailored to your food blog voice?
We went here and let me tell you…this food takes a bit to be ready but SOOOO worth it. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak spring rolls, crab Rangoons, a plate of the shrimp noodles and a order of the rice and shrimp. I will be coming the staff was really nice and friendly. Everything was affordable and you get a great portion of food. Highly recommend.
The nicest Malaysian couple owns this hidden gem. It's a little underwhelming to look at, but the food is banging. Hibachi: Yes, please 🙏 😋. Had the Chicken and Steak Teriyaki with a side of Scallops. Steak was seasoned and cooked medium well. Chicken was tender and juicy. Scallops were tender and not overcooked. Dumplings: Chicken Dumplings, aka pot-stickers, aka goyza, were fried crispy but tender and tasty on the inside. There is seating to eat in, but hardly no parking. What parking there is is paid, restricted, or straight-up confusing. Pros: Food, owners, prices Cons: Parking. Knoxville has the worst parking because everyone is always charging something.
We ordered this to-go as my husband works nearby. We did the three protein hibachi and noodles, as well as the crab ragoons. All meats were amazing. The steak was tender and juicy, the chicken was as well. The shrimp were huge and flavorful. We enjoyed it all and will definitely be back. The crab ragoons were crispy and thin. The only critique I could muster is I wish they had a bit more filling. Will be back!
