Huddle House

Went to this HH in Dillon with my aunt the day of my uncles funeral. We got there the door was locked but people were on the inside. We got sat, the place as freezing cold air set on 70 at it was 40 outside. We waited for someone to come to the table to so we could order coffee. It took about 30mins for someone to come. And there was only one other table there. Meanwhile staff in the kitchen area cussing up a storm. We placed our order. We both ordered the Southwest bowl. The sauce was nasty rusty tasting. I informed the waitress I didn’t want that sauce on mine bc my aunt got hers first. When I got my plate it was drowning in sauce. I didn’t eat mine. Stopped in Dillon SC. today for breakfast at the local Huddle House. Usually we have really good experiences at this breakfast location but today was an unusual event. Although they weren’t very busy our experience was less than usual. They were obviously under staffed this morning because the cook was overwhelmed. Wait time was longer than expected and our food was not as good as we usually experience. The bacon was way overcooked along with the hash browns. Border line burnt up. My wife omelette was the same way over cooked. The waitress was by herself trying to meet everyone’s expectations. Sometimes eating at this type of restaurant with the ability to see and watch the cook and how they prepare the meal is not always easy to watch. First, there wasn't anyone else in the place on Saturday 9-6 at 11:30 am. Not a good sign at lunch. Second, the only AC was a floor unit cooled by water. It was 91 degrees outside. Good thing we sat close to the unit to stay cool. The service was very prompt and courteous although I had to keep asking for refills. Third, the double pattied hamburger was about 4 inches round maybe 3 oz a patty each. I ordered the tater tots and got exactly 12. My husband got the same burger, but French fries instead. He got 14 fries. The tomato slice on both sandwiches was bigger than the 2 patties of meat! Our bill for lunch with drinks and tip was over $35. Shame on you Huddle House. The food was good. The pancakes were not what we expected. But the service was very good. Kept asking us if we wanted more coffee or needed anything else. Wife and I had a good experience there while having breakfast. Will go back again soon. Side Note. The bathroom could use more attention.

We visited this Huddle House and the food was good. The food had decent portion sizes and was very good. It was served to us quickly. Our hostess/waitress/cashier was pleasant and courteous. Took our order by memory and got it all correct. Octavia was fantastic. Will be eating here again before we leave to go home.
