Customer Reviews
I am writing this review for the deli part of this business only. The front part of the store will always be my 5-star place for all the other stuff they offer. The deli store in the back recently changed their menu and operations. Kudos for the effort. I know what it takes to make that happen. But sadly, the food has suffered. I used to visit often as I live just 2 blocks away. I always got a well prepared and tasty sandwich. But I have been there twice since the change and I won't be going back. The first setback was the Philly Cheesesteak. It was a tragedy. I took a couple of bites, opened it up for a closer look, then threw it in the trash. It was not edible. Philly Cheesesteaks are made of thinly sliced beef grilled with strips (not chopped) peppers and onions. The meat was thick and
We love this place! The best food! We have know the owners forever and Gio is the best! All the food is amazing and service is like our Italian family friends in the neighborhood. Definitely worth a visit! You will love the food and friendly neighborhood vibes! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Italians always do it better! 🤌🤤 Always love, Vera & Carmine
Been going here since 2013 most reviews are under my old account no access anyways top notch all around tried the chopped sandwich awesome
We waited 20+ minutes for our 2, sub standard sandwiches. The current 4 star rating they have IS NOT ACCURATE. $20+ dollars for a sandwich I could make at home is deceitful. BEWARE: the price on the menu is not the price you pay at checkout. They added $2 per sandwich (photographed) plus tax at checkout. ALSO, after we waited 20+ minutes we were informed they were cash only. They deceive customers by having card readers that DO NOT WORK. All they want is the high fee you pay from their ATM machine. My girlfriend tried to talk me out of going to this place but unfortunately I did not listen to her. Now I have to deal with her being right.
AMAZING DELI! After moving here from New York, I finally found my bodega away from home. Gio, the owner, is incredibly kind and welcoming, he instantly makes you feel like family. The cooks, Josh and Ceasar, put so much care into what they do and always make sure you leave happy. Their sandwiches are hands down the best in downtown San Diego. You truly can’t go wrong with this deli, it’s a little gem that makes you feel right at home.
