Hoodoo Ice Cream

Supporting local is important to me and Hoodoo is amazing- their ice cream is THE BEST around. But why advertise Dairy Free products if you’re not going to supply them? Also- don’t bother to call them to check and see if they have dairy free before going to get you a scoop because they won’t answer the phone. This has happened on multiple accessions. I’ve grown to become quite disappointed in this establishment.

Hoodoo Icecream is delicious! The young ladies who work there are efficient and polite. The reason for the three stars is because the place needs to be cleaned and fixed up. The front window and door area looks like these are rarely cleaned. The booths are uncomfortable and need to be cleaned more often between customers. When we went there on Friday night, there was a man (manager?) standing near the waffle maker in the serving area, talking to an employee who kept running his hand through his hair. The small bathroom also needs to be checked, cleaned, and the trash emptied more often. The place looks like there is no pride of ownership.

Overpriced and not super flavorful. I got a scoop of coffee in a cone and all I could taste was the cone, flavor was super muted. My wife got a mint cocoa and the cocoa was minimal, again just bland.

WOW! Best. Ice. Cream. EVER! When you first walk in, you are greeted with the most amazing, delicious smell. The guy working was so cheerful and friendly that you couldn't help but smile and laugh along with him. The waffle cones are made right in front of you. So you'll get a fresh, warm, and crispy cone with your ice cream. Mmmm Mmm. It will most definitely spoil you with other ice creams! They have huge booths with some really cool artwork on the walls. You can eat inside or outside on their cute little patio chairs and tables.

On Sunday, September 14, at 3:05 PM, I arrived and saw a sign that read, “On Lunch, Be Back in 20 Minutes.” I waited on the bench outside for 38 minutes, but no one returned to open the doors. There was no indication of when the sign was posted, so I had no idea how long the wait might be. During that time, three other families came for ice cream but also gave up and left. This isn’t the first time this has happened. A few weeks ago, I experienced the same issue and waited in my car for 25 minutes before giving up. It’s frustrating to repeatedly encounter unreliable hours, especially for a family-friendly business. I’d appreciate some clarity on the shop’s schedule or better communication about closures to prevent this in the future. Please address this to ensure customers aren’t left wa
