Hong Kong Taste

There are a few Chineese restaurants in the in town but this one is super close to home, barely have to wait for your order ever, and are extremely pleasant while taking the order, BUT.... I LITERALLY just about soiled my briches when the total hit my account (without being told a total when I ordered either to top it off) When I saw it was $52.95 FOR 2 LARGE APPETIZER ITEMS AND A LG LO-MEIN?!?!?!?!??!?!!! ARE YOU KIDDING??!! Plus no utensils in the bag. Overall the portions are pleasantly generous making it a toss up honestly, but the price; OUCH!

I really hate writing reviews like this, but I feel like I have to be honest. Today we spent $60 at Hong Kong Taste ordering large portions, and the amount of food we received was honestly disappointing. The containers were barely filled, and it wasn’t even enough to feed everyone. When you order “large,” you expect it to actually be large — especially when you’re paying that much. The food itself was fine, but the portion sizes compared to the price just didn’t make sense. For $60, we shouldn’t still be hungry afterward. Really disappointed, especially since we were looking forward to it. I hope they reconsider their portion sizes because the value just isn’t there right now.

The food is absolutely terrible. I read the other reviews and thought this place was going to be a lot better. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce. I got a container of horribly tasting brown gravy with some shrimp in it. I have ordered this dish all over the country for the last 50 years, and have never had it prepared like this. It was ver disappointing and didn’t come with white rice to eat it with. The price was $6 higher then quoted on the menu I had. The owner said that I must be using an old menu !!! I got the menu from the hotel I was staying at. The owner was only interested in getting my money, not with my satisfaction. Easily my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Been coming here for years. Love their crab rangoons the best.

Everything i have ordered here has been hot & delicious. Beef & brocolli. Egg foo yong. Friendly service. Carryout only. Good portions, fair prices.
