Hong Kong City BBQ

We drove an hour to HK City BBQ, a small, family-run hole-in-the-wall tucked into an old strip mall. I’ve been here a couple of times before, and while they do some things really well, other items can be hit or miss. What I highly recommend: the Cantonese wonton soup for two. The dumpling wrappers are perfectly thin, and the wonton filling is flavorful and well-seasoned. The yu choy is sautéed simply with fresh sliced garlic — fresh, vibrant, and exactly how it should be. And the water chestnut pudding is THE BEST. It’s such a hard-to-find dim sum item, and honestly one of the main reasons we’re willing to travel this far to eat here. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the char siu (chashu). I ordered a pound to go, and when I got home, it turned out to be mostly hardened, fat

Good food and large menu. The were out of a few items for Dim Sum but what came out was good, we had: eggplant stuffed with shrimp, Singapore noodles (yum), pork buns, dumplings, shrimp shumai, shrimp toast, crispy duck, sweet sour chicken, salt and pepper shrimp (yum). Service was good and prices as well.

The service was great for take out, they were very compassionate and treated me very good considering i came in with my baby they let me know next time i could just call and have the food taken out to me. The food is always really good from here as well. I ordered the Orange chicken and a order of chicken rice to share with my son and he loved the food as well.

Amazing! How did I miss this place all these years? Authentic NY Style BBQ, Duck, Pork, Fish & Lobster dishes. Excellent food and service! I highly recommend!! 😋

My favorite stop for authentic Chinese seafood cuisine when I'm in Broward. Portion sizes are spot on. Everything tastes just like New York. Great bang for the buck.
