Hondo Public Library

So cute! This library offers so much wonderful activity, creativity, and fun for the little! They have such a large selection of books for all ages, separate rooms to accommodate specific styles for leisurely reading! I love the place. Can’t believe I haven’t been in it before!!

Tried to take my 2 grandchildren, ages 4 and 6, to the children's area for the afternoon last month. It looks great but all the fun stuff, like the pretend castle had been moved into a room only 5 yr and under can play in there. My granddaughter loved to play princess in it. They were playing in the castle together, when the librarian rushes in like we were doing something bad versus 2 young kids playing on toys paid for by tax payers like myself and stalks up to my granddaughter demanding to know how old she was when she said 6 in a nervous confused voice, the librarian says, sorry you'll have to leave this room is for 5 and under. I said, mam no one else is here she's playing with brother and she just starts shaking her head no, saying, nope! No exceptions! Out! So we left. Can't believ

Went to this library for a "meet the authors" style event several months ago and all of the staff was extremely helpful and incredibly nice. This has since become one of my favorite libraries, with aa wonderfully selected collection of books and media. Just amazing!

I love love love this library! My grandson is in the cybersecurity program and my younger grandson enjoys the atmosphere and wonderful children's section. The librarians are so very nice and the variety of programs offered are amazing! There is something to interest everyone from genealogy to used book store to children's section and more! I think I would relocate to this town just for the library!

New building and new layout, they did a good job and it is clean and straightforward. The access to computers will help the community and it has been made very kid centric. With that said if you're a traditional book Worm it may be lacking for you in variety of physical books and quiet nooks to read in (that I saw).
