We used to really like this place but something has happened to the cooking. The food the last few times has been black with too much spice and the usually yellow and creamy delicious Mac and cheese has turned into a blood colored hot spice of noodles. I am wondering if it is under new ownership. The waitresses are still wonderful and friendly but they seem disoriented and the atmosphere no longer is the same. I'm not sure what has happened. It is disappointing. My wife and I loved going there but think we will pass by and go somewhere else in the future. My stomach is not used to so much spice and it left me feeling sick.

I tried this cafe on 3/15/24. I flew into RDU, and my parents were going to Franklinton to meet a friend. Before we left the area, they told me this cafe was a must-try, so off we went, and I am so glad we did. This may be the best hometown cafe I have tried in NC. The restaurant is very clean. The service is excellent. Both are easy five stars. The food was delicious and another five star. Imagine a typical hometown-type cafe that had a baby with a culinary chef. That is what the food is like. We all ordered Hamburger steak with gravy and onions. I got cabbage and green beans. My mom got cabbage and rice/gravy, and my dad got black eye peas and butter beans. I would definitely recommend anybody who ever looking for a good place to eat breakfast this is amazing place. The food is awesome. The atmosphere is great. Everybody is treated fairly no longer wait for your food is an awesome place to eat. The price is good the hospitality is awesome friendly face and smiles somewhere you can go to sit down and enjoy your food. The food is awesome.

Ruined my dinner, country fried chicken was given without gravy. To go orders should been checked before the order was handed out. No customer service Manager Kayla is clueless food dry and taste less. Had to purchase another dinner to eat. Wasted money

Great breakfasts. I love these types of places where you can get a southern, home cooked meal. Tasty biscuits and gravy, pancakes, traditional breakfasts (eggs, meat, grits, etc). Glad I found it! I've had the same waitress 3x and she's awesome!
