Homefront Tearoom

What a treat! My family planned this surprise birthday trip to the Homefront Tearoom, and it was great from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with a courtesy ride from the car to the depot, and everyone we met was incredibly pleasant and welcoming. The entire facility is pristine, which is especially impressive given its history. It's obvious that care is paramount here. The staff even greeted my grandchildren with such pride and dignity. Be sure to arrive early, as the lobby has a very interesting museum that's worth exploring. The tearoom itself did not disappoint. Our party of eight was seated in a lovely private area. Visiting the Homefront Tea room inside the TN Valley Railroad Museum was such a delight! The food was spectacular, the tea selections were plentiful and the atmosphere was beautiful. They used a huge assortment of China that was mismatched beautifully. And the tea pots were amazing. The staff wore period style clothing and could not have been more attentive and pleasant! If you’ve never experienced high tea, or are a lover of high tea, grab your friends and make it a point to add this to your “must visit” list.

This is an outstanding tea room! Everything about it made you feel special and welcome. It's decorated so great and reasonably priced. We bought the combination tea and train ride ticket for $55. It was a fun experience, but the tea room was definitely the highlight! We are going to try and do the Christmas tea on the train!

My friend surprised me with a reservation at a charming tea room. Upon arrival, we were seated at a beautifully set table with our names on the reservation. The table was adorned with elegant plates, tea cups, and silverware. We were presented with a menu to order our tea and had several options to choose from. Additionally, we ordered mimosas and were served house cheese with crackers, breakfast cakes with three toppings, and our favorite lemon cream. The food was delicious and filling, with broccoli soup, quiche, banana pudding, and bite-sized cheesecake and macaroons on the menu. To top it off, the owner brought out a chocolate cupcake for my friend's birthday. The hospitality was impressive, and we will be returning.

This was a cool experience. The hostess didn't ask if we were celebrating anything but if she had, my daughter would have received a small gift. I would recommend eating before you go in case you don't like the food. The quiche has pork in case you wondered. I emailed prior to ask details about the menu but I didn't get a response. The train ride was pretty cool. I highly recommend this for the experience.
