Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church

I had such a great time at the Holy Trinity Festival! It has truly earned its reputation as the best local event! The festival is a total paradise for families; kids and teenagers can spend hours on the carnival rides, playing games, face painting, dancing - while adults soak in the vibrant culture. Perhaps the best part is that it’s incredibly accessible—with free parking and free entrance. It’s a rare opportunity to enjoy a premium experience without a cover charge. The heart of the festival, however, is the food and the people. The authentic Greek food is legendary, but the real showstopper is the Loukoumades—these honey-soaked dough puffs are easily the best I've ever had. As you eat, the air is filled with live music and dancing that makes it impossible not to join in on the fun.

What a beautiful church. I attended the forgiveness ceremony and it was incredibly powerful. I’ll be starting chanting studies here on Saturday, and I’m truly grateful to have found such a beautiful community and living tradition.

I am genuinely astonished at how my family was treated today at Elmwood Cemetery’s Orthodox Church. The priest is a part of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Schiller Park. Today is the one-year anniversary of Yiayia’s passing. We were there last year for her funeral, and in 2017 for my Aunts. Today we went for the 9:30 AM mass to celebrate her memorial, and when I went up for a communion, as a Greek Orthodox, I was questioned if I was Orthodox, which I find to be normal. This didn’t concern me. The priest then came back out a moment later, in the middle of mass, to scold me in front of 30 people asking again if I was orthodox and saying that I was doing my cross the wrong way. I ( A 20 year old) came to this church as someone who was never baptized or apart of a church. I just wanted to learn about Christ, and this church has helped me find my way. Father Methodios, the parish council, and every member went out of their way to help me understand the Orthodox faith and answer any questions I had. I highly recommend this church to anyone and especially those looking to visit an Orthodox Church for the first time.

A very sad day when this Priest ruined a beautiful sacrament, my nieces baptism. Not even a kind word for the beautiful child that was baptized, yelling at Yiayiá for simply giving battery operated, with their Saints picture - very cute - candles to the kids to walk around the basin with their just baptized cousin as it’s “HIS WAY, it’s not a playground!” (mind you the children weren’t running around just waiting by Yiayiá), scolding the beautiful and most caring Godmother as she carried her Goddaughter to receive Holy Communion, yelled at me and called me a name (I have all this on video) telling me to get off the alter, I was taking pictures of the day, as I asked him to please stop scolding her as it’s a baptism and the child’s about to receive Holy Communion - you can yell about whatev
