Hoffman Brothers Ice Cream

Kept seeing this ice cream shop come up on Everything Frederick and was looking forward to trying them out. Great service and ice cream! Loved it. The store was packed, so they seem to have a great customer base. Definitely will stop in again. The gentleman running the place was quick, and super friendly. $5 for mini scoop, $6 for single, $8 for double. It’s very rich so the mini scoop was more than enough for me.

Very good ice cream! I had the roasted strawberry. Wife had key lime pie. Both were fantastic.

Unfortunately never will come back. Freezer burned flavorless ice cream. Had a not great experience on 4/8 around 7pm. Service was not good. First they didn’t know if they take google pay (they definitely take apple? It is just pay bye phone so it’s a yea by default). We were going to get a cone, but they upcharge a whole dollar for a basic cone that probably cost less than 10 cents for them. Then after deciding on one scope vanilla, he put it in a cup, we ended up wanting two scoops. Apparently he can’t put the extra scoop in the same cup because different cup = different amount of scoops. That means that the scoopage is not correct across the board and you’re paying more for less if you end up getting two scoops (and Litterally what the guy said too). This place serves Taharka ice cream (which uses corn syrup). It seems that most ice cream shops in Baltimore now serve Taharka. For that reason, I wish we had gone to the Frederick Ice Cream and Fudge Company around the corner instead. There were probably 12-15 flavors to choose from here. This establishment could definitely use a bigger selection. The owner waited on us. He let us sample the different ice creams. We were very happy with the quality of the ice cream and our choices. The vanilla and key lime flavors were very tasty indeed.

Took our first (of many to come) trip today, and found out they are related to the legendary Taharka brothers ice cream in Baltimore! So happy, I could cry. Honey Graham and Key Lime pie for me, coffee Oreo for my man. Love you guys, thank you!!
