Gravel & Grind

This has to be the best, most consistent, most unique cappuccino place in Maryland. I’ve lived around the world and the orange cardamom cappuccino from Gravel & Grind is fantastic. The flavor of the coffee is great and the taste is consistent across baristas. They all know what they are doing and the beans are obviously on point and fresh. My kids love the hot chocolate and avocado toast. I’ve tried some of the pastries but usually am just going for the cappuccino.

The coffee was amazing, service was friendly and prompt. The only reason I didn't give five stars for the atmosphere is because it was so loud inside that my date and I had to go somewhere else to talk--we couldn't have a conversation because we had to keep repeating ourselves. The physical atmosphere/seating itself is fine. I ordered a cortado with an extra shot. It was really good, and so was the chocolate disk it came with.

I’m a coffee snob and a bike snob. Gravel & Grind checks both boxes, well. So happy to have found this place. Coffee was incredible, service was amazing, and the cycling tips I got were very helpful. We will be back soon!

Stopped into Gravel and Grind for a quick reset and it delivered. We ordered one hot coffee and one iced, both excellent, plus two toasts including one with Brussels sprouts and feta that really stood out. The space felt relaxed but still had a good energy to it, and everything was clean and well kept. Parking was full but manageable, which tells you it is popular for a reason. Friendly and kind service made it an easy win. Definitely a great coffee stop in Frederick.

Looks very nice, I just had a Matcha Latte with almond milk. The Macha was very well done, but was just ok.
