HiWay Pizza Pub

I recently moved to State College and this place quickly became my favorite pizzeria in the area. During my first visit, I ordered a Chicago pizza and it was way better than any pizza I've had in Chicago. This is now my go-to takeout choice. I've tried all the other pizza types (Neapolitan, Sicilian, Detroit, Stuffed) and love them all too. I can't think of another pizzeria that offers all these pizza types. I always enjoy ordering takeout from here. The online ordering and parking are incredibly convenient and the staff has always been very attentive and kind.

It was an average meal. Service took a long time, we had to ask for someone to come to the table. I had a calzone which comes with the sauce poured in the middle of the plate; a first for me. When I took half home with me I had to ask for sauce which was an extra charge. Ask for the sauce in a container if you feel you'll be taking some home. The calzone was pretty good. My friend got the chicken cheesesteak with fries and said it was good. The beer they had was flat and not very cold. I had tiramisu for dessert and it was quite good...but not $8 good. Bottom line its a good place to go for very casual Italian food with easy parking but the prices are not in line with the type of atmosphere in my opinion and be sure to question prices and surcharges or you'll be nickled and dimed to death.

Service is ultra slow today. Place is too packed. I came in for seconds tonight. Mr. White pizza. After my last Google review the parking lot is full. Inside, outside packed. Nice manifestation. Excellent food. Excellent service. I enjoyed the Butcher pizza. Thank you animal Spirits and Gary for creating it. Met the lovely grand daughter of the owners. Highly recommended eatery when you are in State College, PA. Enjoy the Penn State football games and delicious eats here.

Went here with some coworkers while at State College. Atmosphere was your normal college sports town bar. Service was good (nothing out of the ordinary). My salad was good portion nowadays (balsamic was good), and the pasta bowl was slightly smaller than average portion size. My coworkers liked their pizza and said it was good crust.

My twin brother and I couldn't decide on the flaky crust, traditional Sicilian, Detroit style, so we bought'em all!
