Hinze's Country Kitchen

Stopped by on a whim after helping my buddy shave his tires at a local tire shop. Was greeted by the cashier in the front and I asked if they would give me recommendations as a first timer there. Was given options of the fish tacos, burrito supreme (more like smothered chimichanga he said), and the queso burger. Finished it off with a not-dry Mexican chocolate cake (looks like it was layered as oatmeal, brownie, and cake). No waiting time really since we are past peak lunch time and middle of nowhere haha. Overall the food was not bad with our highest rating going to the fish tacos (8/10) as it was technically enough for me to split our 2 tacos into 4 in a way 😅. This is my favorite restaurant! Everything is delicious. My absolute favorite is the turkey dressing plate on Sundays. Get it with the sweet potato casserole - yum!! Today we had the Hinzes burger, onion rings and tortilla soup... The burger - so juicy yet fully cooked. No pink. That's hard to do! The onion rings are the best around. Homemade. The soup has so many wonderful flavors. It's perfect! It comes with tons of crunchy tortilla strip. Squeeze the lime in it! For dessert get the chocolate cake if they have it. They have daily specials, all are great! We live out of town but come as often as we can. You won't be disappointed : ))

This was the best coleslaw, I’ve ever eaten before! The brown gravy sauce was so good too 🤤 😁 Perfect country homemade style meal!!! Thank you

Standard Texas Fare with Daily Specials. If you want barbecue don't come to this Hinze's but any other will have it. I've been to 3 locations and they are all super friendly and efficient. This one had a nicer atmosphere. Great sides and deserts.

Had a friend mention Hinze's Country Kitchen. Driving through Wharton, decided to stop and try it out. One of the best decisions we've made ever. Variety of entree's, desserts, and drinks. I settled for the fish and shrimp plate. Very reasonable prices for fresh cooked food. As you can see by our pictures it was mmmm, good. Definitely making it one of our favorite stops when traveling.
