Hinsdale Public Library

My husband decided to take our toddler to their “Dads and Donuts” event today for Valentines Day. It started at 9:30 and they arrived by 9:50am. It was advertised as free coffee, free donuts and a free craft. It was a big disappointment. There were no cups for coffee, two very small boxes of donuts,NO craft and there were not enough toys for the kids to play with. For a name like Hinsdale, we definitely expected at LEAST the bare minimum.

Small but adequate and great location if you need multiple city services. Love their story times for kid and kid's floor! They also have really amazing programming something for everyone. Stellar support staff too!

I love the library it is the perfect place if you want to be somewhere where you can focus on a project, or to find a new book.

The Hinsdale Library staff are generally excellent—kind, helpful, and professional. However, every time I’ve interacted with Elizabeth Boden, the experience has been unnecessarily unpleasant. She tends to act like a know-it-all and gives me a hard time over the simplest things. It’s frustrating, especially when everyone else at the library is so welcoming. I hope this can be addressed, as it affects the otherwise great experience the library offers.

The staff are wonderful here! I love the services they provide to the children and families of this community. I especially appreciate the service offered to book clubs! Unlike other libraries- they collect the books from other libraries and then hold them for the book clubs. Best of all, the books are due only on the date the book club meets to discuss the book. It's perfect!!
