Hilo Hawaiian BBQ

My dad was craving short ribs and this is one of the closer Hawaiian spots in American Canyon. We came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and it was empty, they cook and prepare your food as you order. It wasn’t busy and our food came out fresh. I personally like short ribs, the side sauce made it a little more tasty, came with rice and their macaroni salad is just ok to me. My mom go the seafood combo plate which comes with shrimp, fish, calamari, and chicken. It was fresh. I don’t think I’ve tried their spam masubis here but I think it’s a competitor to L&L in Vallejo. This location has been here for many years so I’m glad to see it still thriving in this plaza close to super Wal mart. There’s plenty of parking! Really great dish. I ordered the chicken combo plate with extra macaroni salad. The meal took a little long to come out but I think they only had one cook. Leave yourself a extra couple of minutes. Everything was cooked perfectly.

First time trying out Hilo Hawaiian BBQ, and had a pleasant experience. The service was quick and the food was very tasty. We tried the chicken combo and the bbq combo, the food had so much flavor. The combos come with rice and a macaroni salad, was plenty of food for one person.

Great little joint. Took the family here for dinner tonight. We got the BBQ chicken, pulled pork, & fried shrimp. Everything was delicious. Rice and macaroni salad come as sides. The Mac salad was awesome—super creamy. Chicken was moist and flavorful. The bbq sauce and teriyaki sauce were great. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for some Hawaiian BBQ.

It was my first time at this place, they automatically had a small menu. I was asking clarifying questions as the person helping me not only didn’t greet me but also barely talked. When I asked if they only had Kalua Pork and cabbage for catering, he laughed in my face and said “yea” with a snarky attitude. I can’t understand why people would expect you to spend money at their establishment after they disrespect you.
