Hickory Pit

Hickory Pit has been a Jxn landmark since 1979. Pulled pork, smoked ribs, smoked chicken, brisket and burgers are all a must try! Great sandwiches, great salads, hand cut fires and the usual sides round out the menu. Today was a pulled pork plate w 2 sides and Texas toast. The pulled pork is smokey, tender and flavorful. It doesn’t need sauce. The fries are hand cut and fried fresh. The side salad is always fresh and the comeback dressing is good. The beans are tomato-ketchup-heavy with bits of meat in them. The Texas toast is excellent. 3-sauces to choose from; Sweet- is sweet and thin w vinegar. Mild a is hotter than mild, still thinner than a regular sauce, but good and the Hot- thicker than the other sauces and packed with red pepper flakes. It even looks hot. 🥵 The burgers ar

I ordered from here through the drive through. The fries were cold , the brisket was super super dry , the baked beans were stuck together and old. Never again . The toast tasted like it was reheated. I wasted $23.00. I guess I don’t have time to go back to the restaurant. The staff is nice but the food is negative 1

Ordered take out. The brisket was not eatable. Called and complained. I was told they would refund mymoney. Untrue. I will not be returning. .

Today, my husband and i decided to try the hickory pit. We went in and asked about the faves and let them know it was our first time there. They were very enthusiastic about the faves. I was told the pulled sandwiches were what most people ordered so i ordered the beef with baked beans and coleslaw and my husband ordered the double burger. We later realized that the burger didnt come with anything. we also ordered pulled pork nachos since we wanted to try those too. the food came out quick but the beef was dry and and the slaw on top was drier. the sides were very lackluster with the coleslaw being warm. the nachos were nothing that you would ever think would come out with nachos. the pork was dry and crispy and the cheese was just melted shredded cheese that had all the chips stuck tog

This place is on Point! Smoke flavor is amazing and it runs all through the Brisket. The Smoked chicken is moist and although needs some salt I was OK adding my own. Lemon Meringue pie is addictive! One of the better Potato salads out there!
