Hewitt Public Library

Had to stop on my trip to waste an extra day I had and wanted a cool and quiet place to read and relax. It was really nice inside. Although extremely noisy. Even the quiet reading area you could hear the kids screaming, crying and playing through the walls and glass. They have a large computer room and bathrooms were clean. I was able to read for 7 hours in a comfortable chair with a table to hold my book uninterrupted, other than other people coming in and out to quietly read too. They also allow covered drinks and have a drink/snack machine and what looked like a coffee pod machine inside. They close late which was also nice. 👍

I’ve gone to the library many times and have been happy with the features and conditions. However today, was told I couldn’t check out without a physical copy of my library card or ID. I’ve always used a picture of my drivers license on my phone in the past. Disappointing!

Fantastic example of what a local library can be. Decent selection, great facility, and super friendly staff make the Hewitt Library a true gem. They also feature ebook borrowing which is great if you are out of town, but the library is just such a great place to BE that I come by whenever I get the chance.

Books and chairs. They letcha read em. Dine in or take out. Everwhich way ya wanna. Pretty cool.

Hands down, the best library in the USA in terms of interior and maintenance. I know it’s a big statement but I challenge you visit this library and you’ll be convinced. Great staff
