Herradura Vieja Restaurante Mexicano

Wanted to try a new place first dinner. I was a little weary at first due to it being in a shopping strip mall. We were promptly greeted and seated. Nice decor and comfortable bench seats. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Red Sangria was tasty, a real Sangria not just red wine with a fruit slice in it. Husband ordered the Steak burrito and cleaned his plate. I ordered the beef snd chicken burritos. Very good but only finished half. The rest came home with me. The rice had great flavor. We were both very pleased with our meals and will definitely be returning.

Service was exceptional! We had like 3 people waiting on us between filling our drinks and chips/salsa. They weren’t pushy, everyone was just very attentive and good at their job! The food was hot and SO flavorful. Cheese dip was a little pricey ($11) but I have to say, worth it because of the quality! Will definitely be coming back.

Had a fantastic lunch on Saturday- sort of mid afternoon time frame. Food was super fresh and was delicious!! Had the queso fundido - fresh guacamole for appetizers. Kiddo had ground beef tacos- adults had combo platter that was so big had to take some home - and chicken enchiladas with a super amazing tomatillo sauce. Also the Plaza Margarita was perfect!! Not too sweet and just the right kick. Service was on point! Thanks for a great lunch - we will be back soon!!

Started off with some chips and guac which were addictive. We got a round of passionfruit margaritas which were solid, then ordered our entrees. I got the camarones yucatecas which were perfectly spicy and absolutely delicious. My sister got the street tacos with steak and they were really yummy, packed to the top with flavorful ingredients, and the steak was cooked really nicely. My mom got the vegetable fajitas and they were delicious, and the seasoning and spices were very balanced. To finish it off we got the lava cake which was the perfect temperature and tasted delicious. This is one of our favorite spots in Chelmsford and we’ll definitely be back again.

This is the review from my 7-year old son. He has written this review better than I ever could: "In my opinion Herradura Vieja is the best restaurant in the world! My first reason is that it is Mexican and I like Mexican restaurants like Herradura Vieja. Second, they have vegetarian food so my mom can eat there because some restaurants do not have that many vegetarian options. Third, the tacos they have there are the best, for example I usually get soft shelled street tacos with chicken, cheese and no lettuce. My last reason is I like the sounds, especially the chatting and did I mention they have the best music. Now you can see why Herradura Vieja is my favorite restaurant in the whole world.
