Henderson Mexican Restaurant

My dearest friend and I were driving home from Asheville, and we wanted good Mexican food not far off our route. As a child living in New Mexico, so many of the good Mexican restaurants were small "dives," much like the Henderson Mexican Restaurant, that I was instantly taken back to 65 years ago... Let me tell you, this little restaurant did not disappoint us! Both their green and red salsas was unbelievably delicious, with the perfect amount of heat and fabulous flavor. My (vegetarian) cheese enchiladas, with rice and beans were some of the best I've had in years! Ellen ordered the tacos and honestly, I don't think I can remember a meal where we both ate everything off our plates, it was that good. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food this is the best place in the area. The taco meats are seasoned just right and the salsas are on point, just the right amount of heat and flavorful. The place is small, bathroom are clean and the ladies are friendly.

Always my go to for lunch when I’m in town. I’ll choose this over anywhere in town. 100% authentic.
