Haymaker Bar

Ok, we have a new recommend spot. Small place. Looks like just a corner bar but the food is very good. Small place but they do live music and open mic nights. We had the bourbon mushrooms and a double smash. Flavorful and very good. Cook Davion put it down on the food. 2 👍👍

This is one of my favorite spots that somehow still feels under the radar. The food that comes out from that small kitchen and only one or two cooks is so much better than you would expect from a bar of that size. Everything I've eaten there has been delicious. The cocktails are top notch as well, my personal favorite is the Barbados Yacht Club. The atmosphere is also fantastic. They host one of the best open mics in the city every Thursday night where you can hear songwriters of all types play music. Hope this place sticks around for years to come.

Haymaker! Each time I know I am returning to Portland, I eagerly await our return to the fantastic atmosphere in this cozy spot in PDX. More importantly, I relish and crave Dave’s Hanger Steak! The dish is among the best I’ve ever had. The steak is very well prepared and seasoned, tastes remarkable and melts in your mouth. Huge bravos to Dave and his staff! The superbly crafted cocktails and selection of draft beers are a bonus and a treat for all. I also love the Open Mic night on Thursdays. They have terrific performances from area musicians. You never know who will surprise the captive audience. To Haymaker!!!

Wonderful spot with great happy hr menu. Prices are great. Yummy options, wide variety of specialty drinks including NA I got a flight and tried 6 beers from their brew master. Very good. My favorite was the terminator...the darker one. The view out the windows along the rt side wall were spectacular. Our waitress and bar tender were attentive, sweet and funny, and very accommodating. Wish I lived closer, but I was visiting my son from CA for my birthday and Easter.

The food is good if you can taste it under the salt, I ordered the NoPo Chicken and it tasted like someone went to season with salt and the lid fell off. I could tell the food was good underneath but my tongue is still hurting after 2 hours. The service and atmosphere are great though.
