Quiet can be found outside in back of the library. They allow the children to play video games while yapping endlessly back and forth. The librarians are powerless to stop the kids, who basically control the place. Unbelievable, I know. I could not believe it at first, but then a local explained the situation. You will find a peace and quiet for research, reading and studying elsewhere. Such a shame, a blight on Hawthorne.

This library and the staff are the best. They are always available to help, and they will special order books for you. Alachua county has one of the best libraries around. The staff at the Hawthorne branch makes everything accessible to our small town. Kudos to you all you're the best

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Clean facility. Everyone is required to wear face masks so the employees and patrons were properly covered. My husband and I will return again to browse their selection! Something fun to read for everyone here. Ask for help at the desk and someone will definitely see to it that you get the info you need.
