Hastings Public Library

The Hastings Public Library is a wonderful community gem! It's my kids' favorite place, and we visit at least three times a week. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and so welcoming. They make the library experience even more enjoyable. It’s always a positive and enriching experience for the whole family.

Usually I would give this library 5 stars. It has friendly people with an upbeat atmosphere. Today however, I held a spot for one of their study rooms. I assumed there would be a computer in it. Probably where I went wrong. Being there is a college in Hastings I assumed the library would be accessible to provide a public computer in their study room. Since the library is supposed to be a place where you should be quiet I asked for the study room to do a few business transactions. These require for you to be on the phone and on a computer at the same time. Please consider putting a computer in your study room so that we do not interrupt others when conducting business.

This was my first time being in the library since the remodel. I did two kids activities in the same day I was very pleased with the Lego event my kids loved it. I went to a solar system steam event in the afternoon and my other child had a lot of fun at that event. They have a whole large section setup for children upstairs. You can access by stairs or elevator. They have foam blocks or large plastic connecting pieces to build a fort. They have a nook where you can play with Legos, do puzzles or games, there are bin with other unique toys. They have 2 computers sections and areas with multiple computers based on age. With your new library under construction you folks have done an amazing job adapting and your entire staff goes above and beyond to help their patrons. I almost feel like family when I come to the library. I just hope my grammar and spelling are rite.
