Hassayampa Smokehouse Barbecue

We ended going to this place because other "breakfast cafe's" nearby had a long wait...and we were pleasantly surprised! The food here was absolutely fantastic! The only minor thing I didn't like was the lack of options if you didn't want eggs with the combo...the only option was cottage cheese. I still enjoyed my food immensely.

This is my new favorite smokehouse. It was excellent. My husband ordered a burger and fries and I ordered the sampler platter and it came with pulled pork, 3 ribs and brisket. The beans had a perfect blend of slightly sweet with a little spice. The meats were full of flavor and tender. While I like my Mac and cheese a little creamier, it was still excellent and again was seasoned well. I definitely recommend their sampler platter.

We arrived hoping to indulge in the sushi and fried rolls, which were then told are only available on Thursdays during the summer. When we found out they weren't an option, we decided to explore other menu options. Our bartender, Ty, impresses us with her skills - her Long Island Iced Tea was a highlight! My cousin and I shared the brisket burnt ends and hatch chile creamed corn, while my aunt enjoyed the brisket potato skins and George savored the brisket mac 'n cheese. Every dish was superb, with generous portions. The staff's friendly and engaging vibe added to the great experience. The restrooms, located at the back, were spotless. This place is really very excellent in all categories! Clean, friendly, warmly inviting! The food was melt in your mouth savory!! I definitely will go again and again and again!!! The food in this picture was brisket, it's a BIG 2 THUMBS UP!! Flavor was tantalizing to the taste buds as it melted in mouth with juicy tenderness! Sweet Potato fries...perfect texture and the creamed corn was heavenly!!

The food might be good but we will never know. We pulled in on a Friday at 1:30 and the two servers inside said that we could sit outside with our party of five and dog but there were only two servers and they couldn't guarantee us when they could even take our order or how long it would be for food. We even told them that we had traveled over 2 hours to try their barbecue and they said sorry... With that kind of attitude, why you even bother. We went across the street to the Mecca bar and grill and had a wonderful meal with wonderful service. Sometimes the experience with servers is more important than the meal itself.
