The lechon plate was good but next time no onions. The pork had great flavor and didn't need the excessive amounts of onions it had.

Hartura is one of Wake Forest's gems. It is located in the Market of Wake Forest Shopping Center. The building has transformed from what was once home to Pizza Hut. It is on the side closer to Capital Blvd., and there is plenty of parking. Usually, when I dine here, I can select my own seat, and they bring me a menu, but at busy times, they will seat me. You can enter from either side of the building, and one side has a ramp. I try to enter on the left side as I like to look at the daily specials. Over the years, I have gotten to sample quite a bit on the menu. The portions are always large and generous. My favorites are the eggs Benedict, the burgers and the fried fish. Nice little home cooking spot with a hint of spice and everything nice. I tried the chicken and waffles. I added pecans to the waffle. The combo comes with two eggs. The chicken was seasoned well. It was really good, I didn't know what to expect because they used breadcrumbs instead of flour for batter. It's a chicken breast that is tenderized and covered in breadcrumbs, then fried. I like that they added two eggs in the combo because it adds more protein to help with the waffle. Its alot of food and it's seasoned very well. My friend ordered the Cuban sandwich, and it looked soooo good. Someone suggested this place for the shrimp and grits, but we were not ready for that today. We went around 10 am or 10:30 am. A gentle and quiet vibe for breakfast with perfectly prepared food. Got the chicken & waffles, and honestly the best available in wake county. This is my go to spot in Wake Forest now. It's a crime they aren't packed out to the patio at all times. Wake up y'all! Don't sleep on the excellence here!! ✨️

If you’re wondering should you get a bite to eat from here…let me help you and say…… YOU SHOULDN’T… Maybe this place should only be open for breakfast because the dinner experience was by far the worst I’ve had locally. I literally threw the entire meal away. The Picadillo taste just like it looks… awful! Not to mention the old rice that was served with it … The macaroni salad smelled and tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge uncovered and had taken on that gross refrigerated smell of other foods…. the pork nuggets looked as if someone else’s order was repurposed for mine and they were inedible. Lastly, if you enjoy not being greeted with so much as a hello or thank you for ordering with us…. Then this is your place… otherwise., choose differently!!
