Hartley's Original Pork Pies

My mom used to bring a box of these home for lunch on Saturdays after she went shopping for groceries. That was over 45 years ago. I moved out of the state 25 years ago & recently had the chance to be there at opening one Saturday morning thanks to a Facebook Marketplace buy. I haven't eaten one of these in over 40 years & NEVER had one fresh & still warm. It was a transcendent experience. Why didn't mom ever let me eat a fresh one? I inhaled 2 pork, 1 beef & one chicken. I went back in & got a dozen assorted to go. Thank you Hartley's for bringing me back to my mom who left us 35 years ago.

I have been coming to hartleys for almost 20 years and their meat pies are still the same. You’ve got three options, four on Friday. Chicken, beef+potato, pork, and salmon on Friday. That’s my personal rank order of favorites as well. Chicken is almost soupy in the best way. Crust is dense and flaky. If you know what you’re doing you can eat em in the car without making a mess. The inside is classic, the vibe is classic. Go as early in the day as possible, when they’re out of pies they close shop. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Great pork pies at reasonable prices. They have been there forever. And the lady who got my order was very friendly indeed.

Simply the pies and service are top notch. They do it right every time. Don't waste your time going anywhere else.

Great place for take out meat pies. Has more of a selection than you'd think.
