Hartford Steak Co. Tavern

We rolled in right about 6 p.m. on a Saturday and the parking lot had 1 spot left with cars parked down the street. We were seated fast. Excellent prime rib (12 ounce with bread, a salad wedge, and baked potato was $25), fresh lettuce with homemade ranch dressing, and soft dinner bread. Service was great and the food came out fast. Call ahead to see what they are serving as I believe the weekend is just prime rib. The atmosphere has a touch of Alpine Inn from Hill City to it. We will definitely be back.

They should post something on their menu that states you can only get prime rib on weekends. We drove 50 minutes to get there only to find out you don't get a choice other than prime rib. I went there because I heard the filets are excellent, the service is excellent and it would be worth the drive. I was so disappointed. I can't eat prime rib, let's just say I like it but my body doesn't. We did end up getting the prime rib anyway. iIt was a little dry but the aus juice helped and really added to the flavor, the baked potato was hard and cold the butter wouldn'teven melt.. Everything else was good. Traveling through from Wyoming. Great food, amazing staff and service. The customers were greeted by first name when they came in and we were made to feel like hometown family. Awesome experience, food and service. Great prices.

The food was awesome the burger was a perfect medium rare the steak tips were also a great medium rare the red wedge salad was delicious and the key lime pie is a great choice highly recommend this a little off the beaten path but a great stop say hi to Shelli the bartender she did a great job PS love the menu

This was an exceptional value and the prime rib was deliciously perfect! What a good time for our family of 6—thank you so much for giving us a delightful surprise for my birthday tonight! We all want to come back!
