Harrelson's Seafood Market Pawley's Island

I’m so happy this place is in Pawleys. I had a long conversation about the different types of fish they carry. Cooked some Grouper in a lemon, butter, parsley, caper sauce. The sauce broke, but the fish was so good it didn’t matter. (Edit) one of the fish recommended to me was hogfish grouper. I ate out in Charleston last night and a hogfish crudo was on the menu. It was spectacular. So another reason to go here

The Crab Cake Lady is back ! Years ago( circa 2007) a magical rustic yellow shack held the "Crab Cake Lady's" famous blue crab patties. They centralized in the Inlet and our vacation was never the same--- UNTIL now! It is back on Pawley's Island. No pomp, no fuss, just fresh caught happiness and crab cake heaven.... Here is a snippet: An Mathis Springs grew up in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam, worked in Saigon, then came to Murrells Inlet, SC, when she was adopted by an American couple. Through their mutual love, her story developed and through her hard work and perseverance, she became known far and wide for her delicious crab cakes. She married and settled in the area and the rest is a crab lovers history. DO NOT miss the fresh seafood emporium.

The owner is the coolest guy!!! He told us how to fix the grouper and it turned out even better than we could buy at a restaurant! The seafood was fresh and delicious! You can get just about any kind of seafood your heart desires here! Try the scallops!!! They also have "low country boil in a bag" already portioned which is fantastic!! Love this place! Its a great deal for an authentic seafood dinner on the beach with friends!!!

Super fast and knowledgeable, helped us pick out the best food for our trip and even a good recipe!

My family and I vacation in Pawley's every year and Harrelson's is one of our first stops. Love the fresh shrimp (which they will season and steam for you upon request), the tuna steaks the prepared snacks in the fridge, etc. I have tried other fish markets in the area and this one is the best.
