Harless + Hugh Coffee

Good espresso drinks (the macchiato and cortado are my favorites), great service, comfortable seating areas. It was a beautiful day, so we sat in the back porch area. The cherry scone was great and the smoked salmon sandwich was excellent! While the decaf espresso shots weren't quite dialed-in, I'd definitely visit again and would recommend Harless + Hugh Coffee.

We stop here on our way home from northern Michigan and love it! The coffee is high quality. I got a cortado for here and it was served in such a cool mug. The toast and pastries they serve are delicious. If you’re stopping in Bay City, stop here then hit the antique store around the corner.

Really nice coffee shop, caramel pumpkin latte was delicious and so was the almond butter toast. Great place to take a break in bay city.

In the past H&H has always been 6 out 5 stars for me. The atmosphere was pretty chill and the staff was friendly. Where they had shined was their coffee. I always felt as though they had the absolute best coffee in bay city. Today however, was not the usual experience I've held them in high regard for. We all have crazy days, so I am always willing to excuse an off day when it comes to service and staff friendliness. But the atmosphere today was a bit bonkers. Overwhelmingly loud tables, and the conversations from other patrons were definitely not the friendliest. (Which I understand the staff aren't responsible for customers) but what was really underwhelming today was the coffee, it was mid at best. Disappointing as I have always loved their coffee. I’ve been slipping into this place most mornings before work and… yeah, it’s basically therapy with espresso. Rustic wood floors, soft leather chairs, and the kind of lighting that makes your soul exhale.
