Harford County Public Library: Joppa

It's not the biggest library but it's awesome nonetheless. Really clean building, friendly employees. I was nervous coming to a library that's down the street from a high school, but I was here after 2 o'clock and the teen patrons were very quiet and polite. I commend the staff for creating a respectful environment, it makes for a library where the other customers can feel relaxed enough to read or study. Great place to go if you simply wish to get out of the house and want an atmosphere that's free of distractions. I'm definitely coming back when I can! :)

Very very disappointed,I was the second person in the liberty when doors opened 10am. I was ask what I needed help with? I explain I needed to make copy of my bank statements, she said ok you need to email your statements to hcps. Them she walks away another lady comes I explain the same to her,she walks me to a computer shows me how to pull information then walks away too. I sat at the computer 5 minutes when I hear kids another lady using her loud voice to tell parents come sit bring your kids sit. As I look around the same two ladies just standing watching the parents sit with their children. The fact the I explain to both women lady's what I needed help with and got no help! No copies were made no emails was sent to hcps! Again very disappointed with the assistance ir help I was to ge

A hidden gem in Harford County! Definitely a smaller branch but it is really lovely. The bigger branches like Abingdon and Bel Air draw more notice for their kids programs but this branch is really amazing. The children's librarian is wonderful and so kind to the kids. She seems to learn all the their names and addresses them as such. The have a nice little kids area that they decorate different for different holidays or seasons. Love this little branch. And since you have access to the whole county's materials you can just request for things to be shipped there for you if they don't have it.

A medical emergency happened here earlier, and the staff us not trained enough for saving a life. A woman asked for a difibulatior and the staff could not find it and walked to go get it. I had to yell at her to tell her to run. They clearly don't know how to save a life. Someone needs to give them proper training!!! Just sad...
