Happy Teriyaki - Garden City - Next to D&B Supply

I haven’t been to Happy Teriyaki since covid and they did NOT disappoint. It’s always been a bit pricey but for good reason, their food is fresh and absolutely delicious. The spicy chicken is SO flavorful and the perfect amount of spice. The crew in the kitchen is wonderful and Sung, the woman who helped me up front was very sweet. Gonna have to come back to try the Dole whip!!

Loved going to the Eagle location and was excited to have one closer. 5/5 when they opened, but unfortunately the last couple times of going and getting some of their 'fried' items (gyoza, chicken katsu, shrimp) it tastes like overheated or burnt frying oil. The stuff mentioned tastes burnt without being burnt in itself (though the katsu was maybe overdone). The katsu here is one example. Everything else has been great. The teriyaki plates especially. Probably just needs more changing of oil or slightly lower running temps.

Very clean and fresh food. Open kitchen where you can see them cooking and prepping. Better than Panda! Boba tea and ice cream to boot. Definitely recommended!

Katsu burnt to a crisp, fried rice was dry, dry, dry. My partner's orange chicken was rubbery, like it had been out for a long time. I've eaten there many times but the last 2 times it's been absolutely terrible and a waste of money. Looking for a new Asian place for take out from now on.

We were really excited that a Happy Teriyaki came to this location. We have had take away from here twice now, food is always good but this last time, the person behind the counter was more than rude when asking for an extra bit of Teriyaki sauce. Said "sauce is in the bag", turned her back and walked away. She certainly should not be in a hospitality position. For the price of the food, I am sure you could part with an extra ounce of sauce. 🙄
