Hansen's Baked Goods

I had heard about this person selling sourdough bread from their home. Wow! Holly makes exquisite delicacies that are practical! The Rosemary Olive bread looked and tasted like I expect when I am in Europe or a fine restaurant. If you get the chance it is worth the drive!

My wife and I made the trip from Rapid City to Spearfish to pick up our order of various items from Hansen's Baked Goods (no relation; last name not even spelled the same). But the en route aroma was so tempting we devoured one of the croissants before we hit Sturgis, and it was oh so sublime. Once home, we savored Holly's lavender haze while looking at each other from separate chairs, in total silence, save for our intermittent exclamations about how gol dang good it was. Then for supper, we had omelets -- couldn't wait for morning -- made of Holly's free-range farm-fresh eggs -- which were so pretty my wife insisted I take a photo -- with a side of toast made of a second croissant. I purchased a loaf of 25% Rye bread at the farmers market. It’s the best rye bread I’ve ever had. Rye has more fiber and a stronger taste. The crust is crunchy and the texture is dense. It can be a meal in itself. I will be back for more.

Best sourdough in the Black Hills!! You can taste the love Holly puts into her baked goods. I'm typically not a fan of pastries, but Holly's scones are out of this world. No more supermarket bread for this household :)

Lemon Blueberry Scones. These are a little bit of heaven. Perfect lemon scone, smothered with blueberries. Delicious!
