Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

It's hidden - but I found it. Great Great ice cream. There were plenty of flavors to choose from. I liked the sidewalk sign with all of the flavors listed. There are several tables to sit at while you enjoy your ice cream. Another plus is that all of the tables were very clean. I got 2 scoops of Salted Caramel Truffle in a cup. My cost was less than $6. for a generous portion. Fast, friendly service!

Unfortunately, Handel’s has melted right off my favorites list. Once upon a time, they had flavors that felt exciting and refreshing , now it’s like they’ve given up trying. I went for the Coconut Cream Pie flavor, hoping for a tropical escape, and instead got a plasticky puddle of regret. It didn’t taste like coconut, cream, or pie , unless your grandma’s Tupperware counts as “pie.” To make matters worse, the “small” scoop cost nearly $5 after tax, and the only thing small about it was the joy it brought me. At this rate, I’d rather buy a pint from the grocery store and spare myself the disappointment. Handel’s, it’s been real… but it’s not been good.

I first tried this place several years ago in Palm Springs California so surprised to see it here while visiting Raleigh! I’ve always loved the Graham Central station (it’s sooo bomb) but decided to tey the coffee chocolate chip which was great as well but i’ll be back for the Graham again for sure!

This ice cream was delicious!! Vanilla Blondie was everything I was hoping for! This has moved to our top spot. We are big Fresh.Local Ice Cream fans but Handels has topped them. Only thing missing is more descriptions of the ice cream flavors written on the menu, but those people who work there know that menu from a-z and described everything about each flavor we asked for.

Handles in Morrisville, NC is an absolute must-visit! Their ice cream, made fresh daily, is truly phenomenal. I absolutely loved the black cherry waffle cone, and the chocolate milkshake was a hit too. Highly, highly recommend stopping by for a treat!
