Hanami Sushi & Sake Bar

We came here to celebrate by daughters 18th birthday. She is on the spectrum and picked this location. They were super nice and accommodating. They made her feel so comfortable and welcomed. The food was fantastic and everyone found something to eat they would like. I cannot eat seaweed and they do have soy wrap for this sushi. Double win!! They also gave her a birthday surprise so we could sing happy birthday. We will definitely be back!!

A beautiful restaurant in Carmel City Center. We came here before enjoying a wonderful show at the concert hall next door. The service was friendly and quick. The seaweed salad was one of the best I’ve had with a nutty and citrusy flavor. The gyoza were flavorful and had lots of filling. The spicy tuna roll was spectacular. The entrees we had is where the experience fell a little flat. The hibachi meal had a sauce that was overly sweet. The Japanese curry was tasty, but the pork cutlet was undercooked and not warm. The pad Thai was delicious and was one of the best entrees we had. Overall I would recommend this place for sushi, but not for their other entrees.

Hanami Sushi and Sake Bar delivers the kind of calm, softly glowing atmosphere that makes you forget you’re sitting ten feet from a parking lot. The space is clean, modern, and welcoming, and the staff greets you like they’re genuinely happy you came in. The sushi is the star here. Fresh fish, clean cuts, and good portion sizes. The rolls are well-balanced without falling into the “too much sauce” trap that some places lean on. The nigiri is especially solid — a simple, honest showcase of quality. The sake list is thoughtful without being overwhelming, and the staff can actually explain what you’re ordering, which is always a plus. A few notes that keep this from being a full five stars: some dishes can be a touch inconsistent between visits, and during busy hours the pace can slow down.

Fantastic meal and great atmosphere at Hanami Sushi & Sake Bar! We ordered the King of the Sea and Hanami Tower sushi rolls, and both were outstanding -- super fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can really tell the chefs take pride in their work. For the main dish, we had the Tonkotsu Ramen, and it was amazing -- rich, flavorful broth with perfectly cooked noodles and toppings. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a comfortable, modern vibe that made the whole experience even better. It's rare to find a spot that nails both the food and the experience, but Hanami does it effortlessly. Whether it's date night or a dinner with friends, this place is easily one of Carmel's best.

I’ve been to Hanami a few times, but my last experience left a sour taste in my mouth. My partner can’t have gluten and we love the variety of gluten free options Hanami offers, so we booked a Valentine’s Day reservation at Hanami about 2 weeks out. I got a call from Hanami a few days before Valentine’s Day saying they overbooked and needed to move my reservation. They moved it back an hour and 45 minutes, but told me they’d put it in the system to give me 10% off my bill. When we arrived at the time of our reservation, there was a long line of others who also had reservations and were still waiting for a table. We waited for over 30 minutes past our reservation to be seated, and they had no queue system or any way to tell what time your original reservation was or what time you checked in
