Really enjoyed this place. The sushi is high quality and tastes very fresh, and the oyster bar adds something special to the menu. You can tell care goes into the food. I’ll definitely be coming back.
“DC-level food in the heart of Hampden.” Must try: Sushi Tacos The food was outstanding and came out quickly, and the sake selection was excellent and well priced. The fish was extremely fresh, the portions were absolutely perfect and the miso soup was not served burning hot. The atmosphere was energetic and lively, with a cozy dining space that felt intimate without feeling cramped. Service was the only downside. Our waiter checked on us twice earlier in the meal but seemed tired and disengaged overall, with little personality. Toward the end of the meal he disappeared, and after waiting about 15 minutes we ended up asking another server for the check. She had a much better attitude and helped us right away. I understand service can vary depending on the staff member or how busy the
This place is a 10/10 all around. The ambiance and the food were amazing. Everything tasted so fresh and had a great price point. My only suggestion would be to have more mocktails. Otherwise everything was perfect! Even the bathrooms were nice and neat. I enjoyed my birthday there and the staff were so welcoming. You must try this place. Food suggestions: crab Rangoon, soft shell crabs, edamame, and Hana roll!
Overall great experience! Everyone was super friendly. We got maki rolls, tuna nigiri, yakitori and tonkotsu ramen. The tuna nigiri tasted super fresh. The short rib yakitori was a little sweet in my partner’s opinion, but he said still delicious, well cooked. The pork belly yakitori was great. The spicy salmon and spicy tuna maki rolls actually had a nice kick and great flavor! The spicy tuna mixture seemed a little bit processed with super small tuna pieces compared to the spicy salmon which had big chunks of salmon. Probably the best spicy salmon roll I’ve had in Baltimore! Would come back for it. Ramen broth with the spice bomb had good flavor but pretty salty with only two thin pieces of pork chashu, so next time we’ll skip that.
10/10 amazing food and service. The lychee martini was my favorite. I loved how attentive everyone was always checking in. The matcha desert was balanced perfectly. I cannot wait to come back. Perfect addition to the Hampden area.
