Hamtramck Public Library

My children and I have been going to this library since 2010 and continued until we moved out of Hamtramck in 2019 just a few months before the pandemic happened. The one thing I've always appreciated about this library is the librarian's kindness, Ms. Laticia was always kind to my children and I and always welcomed us with a smile. Another person that was kind to my children and I was Ms. Katie she used to have story time every Saturday and fun activities for my children to participate in. We also went for the Summer Reading Program. The memories that I have at this library are nothing but good memories. The library was always packed with parents and children doing activities or laughing and playing on the computers we would stay around just before the sunset because we loved being there.

I’ve been going to this library since I was 14 years old. It had been quite a while since I’ve been there but it was a great nostalgic experience coming back. They’re always helpful, polite and welcoming. Copies, prints and even faxes are done at a very cheap price. This library will always have a place in my heart.

I went to this library as a kid and loved it. The had a great Summer Reading Program and so much more and most of it is free too. And the staff was great too. I went back after almost 10 years and the staff isn't as professional or helpful as they used to be.

We love this little library! They have nice, newer computers, print out are cheap, GREAT kids section. They also do tons of community activities including a coding club for older kids and a toddler time for the little ones. The selection isn’t huge, it if you want a book they’ll get it for you. The staff are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. 💕

I hate to write anything bad about a library but I think they do the best they can with what they have. I think I have seen some iffy looking patrons which is why I'm struggling to give this place a better review. They do have plenty of books and offer many services for the community. They also have a cool reading program(s) for the kids which is always great. Definitely not my favorite place to go but it's the only place in Hamtramck that has books.
