Half Hollow Hills Community Library

Small town community library. Across from Sunquam Elementary School. Security guards present. Older building. Quiet staff. Much prefer this over the brand new, high-tech monstrosity they built in Dix Hills. Order books on-line for pick-up. I go for the magazines.

Staff here might be some of the nicest people in all of Melville. Especially a big thanks to Maryanne ☺️🙏

This is a very small community library. The other Half Hollow Hills library is huge in comparison! We visited the librarian to check out and return a museum pass and visited the children's section on the bottom floor. The process of retrieving a reserved pass was very easy but it would be nice if passes were available at both branches. The children's section had nice displays of books of a common Fall theme. There were some toys to play with as well. There is also an elevator for those who need it.

Melville branch is small and cozy. Librarians and staff are terrific. Last night I checked the website for a travel book. Website told me the book was available at the Melville branch. Went there to get the book and was in and out in less than five minutes.

I love this library. Everyone is so friendly. I was able to open up a library account at this facility because I worked in the area, which I did not even know was possible! Yay!
