HAKATA Hibachi Steak & Sushi

Wonderful food and atmosphere. Went without a refill the entire time but it seemed only one kid was really working the floor. All in all it was great. The boy just needed help. Not his fault. Ordered sushi, and crab racoons with hibatchi chicken streak and shrimp. All was super great. Even on day 2.

We went to celebrate our oldest being home for the holiday - we were there no more than 40 minutes - we were so rushed and took away from a nice family dinner. We also were a party of 5 and like the other poster we were charged a 20% service charge and then it's like they try to sneak it in and also leave a tip line. This is completely wrong because on the menu it says "party of 5 20% gratuity" not service charge. Chef was great food was pretty good - but not sure we will be back. It was $200 for our family of 5 for a 40 minute dining experience and we all had water to drink. Also the $10 share fee is ridiculous for some beef broth and a salad with just lettuce and a scoop of ginger dressing - you still have to pay for the friend rice.

There were 2 adults and 3 children under 5. Two of our kids had a birthday and we came to the restaurant to celebrate. I asked the waiter about meals for the kids because they don’t eat much. She agreed we can have 3 meals and it should be fine for all 5 since the kids don’t eat much. And that she won’t add the extra $10 for sharing for each child. We ordered shrimp, steak and chicken. On the receipt, I was charged 3 meals and 10x3 for fried rice. So I was charged $30 for rice I never received as extra. I wasn’t even asked about steamed rice and she picked the friend rice for me. Mind you, the amount of food served is a single person meal so it was 3 full single person meals. When the bill came and I asked the waitress about the charge she didn’t seem to understand. They do not have a dedicated Hibachi chef during lunch, so it is best to avoid visiting at that time. Even though he was put on the spot, our chef did his best to keep us entertained. The flavors were good, although the steak was overcooked. We also tried two rolls, the Eel Avocado and Shrimp Tempura, both of which were decent. The prices here are reasonable, but it does not seem fair to include a service charge for an inexperienced chef.
