Gus's Diner

Today on my way to Toms River, I stopped for lunch at Gus’s Diner. The staff is nice and fast. As soon as we got in, they came asking if we were ready to order. Diners are not usually like that, so I found something special here. If you want American food, this is a good place. I also noticed mostly locals come here - only myself was Asian. I heard the original owner was Greek from 30 years ago, but someone else owns the place now. Highly recommended on your way to Toms River!

Great Diner. Fantastic food. Owners treat everyone like family, and the wait staff is just a nice. Soups are great - special shout out to split pea!

Excellent food. Fresh food, good portion size. Our Gus' poached eggs with avocado and roasted peppers was delicious. They served nice slices of real avocado.

Who doesn’t like a good Jersey diner? Stopped here for a weekday dinner around 5:30pm and the place was filling up quickly. I can understand why. The menu was as big of a diner menu as I have seen in a while and the daily specials were terrific. The dinner specials came with soup or salad, a main dish with a potato and veggie and then a dessert. My dinner guest and I each went home with another full meal for the next night. The pea soup was great - not too salty at all. The broiled scrod was outstanding as was the mashed potatoes (with brown gravy) and the sautéed spinach. Our waitress was excellent and the service overall was terrific. The only reason I am not giving it 5 starts is because of the flies that would not leave us alone during our meal. However, that wouldn’t stop me

Pretty good diner with a wide variety of dishes and attentive staff. Sandwiches and fries were great. Caesar salad was good, but chicken was a bit dry. Tons to choose from. Plenty of seating but still fills up. Affordable. Manager was nice. Would eat here occasionally if I lived in the area.
