Grub Garage

The place recently opened, so not much of a crowd at the moment. The menu could use some improvement. The place is eclectic with its use of car parts and other memorabilia. I ordered the recommended Torta, the meat was well cooked with a couple of different salsas included. One of the meats had a little grizzle which I found myself picking out. The agua fresca was good.

I will begin by saying that our server was very friendly and respectful from beginning to end. He took our order of drinks first and then brought it to us. This was at 4:50pm. We had an agua fresca of horchata and Jamaica (pleasant). Once he served our drinks, he took our order (that was at 5pm) of a chilanga torta and fries. The server told us he would bring us some chips and sauce which took about 20 minutes. Then, we eventually finished the chips and drinks, and our food was still not served. At around 5:35pm, our server came by to check in on us and we asked him about the delay in our order. His response was that there were only two cooks in the kitchen and one had just arrived but he assured us our food was going to be served shortly. (He was very polite throughout our time there). W

Stumbled something that is wayyyy cooler than it looks like outside. It looks like a lot of blood, sweat, tears and passion was put into the car theme of this restaurant and it deserves more recognition. I mean, just look at the bathroom sink! Also really enjoyed the No tiene mother torta. This place makes a great night out with the family!

The torta was so good, good flavor and toppings. The agua fresca was okay, what was cool is they bring you chips and beans. They were training my server so she was a little slow but she was cool, I liked her.

We arrived on a Sunday a little past 10am, placed and order and after waiting for almost 1 1/2 hours, the waitress comes to apologize that she didn’t take our order to the kitchen and if we still wanted it. I said no, we had already been waiting for a long time, that we even ordered a second round of totopos and salsa. We paid and I did provide my constructive criticism to the waitress, I did tell her that I know it’s not her fault for the delay, but it would be great if customers are informed about the wait times. This way customers can make the decision to stay or not. I cannot rate the food as I didn’t eat.
