Beautiful property! Very comfortable stay, very authentic with such history. Updated with still retaining some of the original mill workings and equipment. Refrigerator was well stocked with plenty of breakfast fare and all important coffee. For such a big building, temperature was very comfortable. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and made for a great sleep. Wish we could have stayed longer!
The building/mill was very clean, and they did a wonderful job preserving the mill works while also designing and upgrading the indoor space for a bed and breakfast. We did hear a mouse during the night and saw a mouse running around the next day. This is situated in the woods, so it may not be possible to fully prevent this. The other guests alerted the management of the mouse.
Three of us stayed here in April for a family reunion. The mill is a charming retreat, redolent with history (some of the 19th-century mill equipment has been preserved) and adjacent to lovely walking & hiking trails. The kitchen area is well stocked, the beds quite comfortable and the lounge areas - upstairs and down - limited but comfy. We especially appreciated the en-suite bathrooms in every bedroom. One note - if staying in cool weather, as we did: The open-plan main floor can be a bit cool, as the heat rises to the second floor, making the two bedrooms quite warm. (You can block the heat vents in those rooms, but you still don't need a heavy blanket.)
Such a great experience. We, 2 families, rented all of the rooms. Having this huge space all to yourself is really lets you relax. It is incredibly well reconditioned. The kitchen is well provisioned. There is a trail directly from the mill to Glen Helen park (to your right when exiting the mill). That connects into the other parks. It's so nice to start hiking right from your doorstep. There is another trail (to the left when exiting), that takes you through a covered bridge. Some small things: We couldn't get the fireplace to work. The upstairs rooms were really hot at night in the winter time. All in all, it is a unique place that is well worth it.
We rented the mill for my daughter’s wedding open house. The mill is absolutely charming. We used the upstairs to line up tables for dining. Guests also sat downstairs at tables and outside on the deck. We had it catered by Lola’s restaurant and there was room for buffet tables. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 downstairs, but we only needed it for the event space. Would highly recommend!
