Gretchen's Confections and Cafe

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! My mother and I went on a early Saturday morning. We were immediately greeted by the cashier with a warm and friendly smile. The environment is a nice area to go and enjoy a beverage and a sweet treat. I got the Hot Chai Tea and it was the best I’ve ever had in my ENTIRE life. The gentleman making it took his time to perfect his craft and the end result was worth the wait! Some of the chocolate are gluten free, just ask! I will come here again!

This was our first time to Marcellus. We stopped at the pizza place across the street and saw Gretchen’s Confections and Cafe as we drove by. We are glad that we stopped in. The staff were friendly and told us up front which chocolates that they didn’t have; sadly they were all the ones that we wanted to try. We found the paper guide that they had available on top of the display case and decided to try some other chocolates that were not our first choice. I am not sure why the more popular chocolates, according to the staff, were not available. These chocolates were very good, very gourmet, and worth the $15 that we spent on 5 chocolate pieces. At the Marcellus Field Days in June, vendors set up stands along Main Street to sell their wares. This year, 2024, a newly opened chocolatier introduced themselves to the community by offering free samples of their chocolates. The sample I tried won me over at first bite. The chocolate hazelnut bonbon I tried was outstanding. I purchased a small box to take home. Can't wait to return to the store to explore other flavors. UPDATE-1: Returned after their official opening in October. It's a great place to sit and enjoy coffee and a pastry and select a box of chocolates to take home. The place is clean and bright, the chocolates are delicious if a bit pricey, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Very nice atmosphere good prices. The staff were friendly. The Barista was friendly but the customer service was a little lacking luster. I ordered and paid for a specific drink and waiting while the other members of my party got their orders. I went to the counter and asked for my drink only to be told they were out and didn’t want to make more bc it was a waste. They offered an alternative but never took the initiative to find me and offer something different. I’m guessing it was lack of experience. I will definitely go back! I also recommend. But this is why I didn’t give the 5th star.

Visited here a while back with my friend who lives in Marcellus. I have a weird allergy and the manager went above and beyond in reaching out to the chocolatier to make sure I could safely enjoy the sweets - which were delicious! 12/10, I'd do a sixth star if I could! I had 2 chocolates and a coffee which were fantastic. I'm particularly partial to the star decorated one (sorry I forgot the name) which was fruit filled!
