Great Escape

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I took three of my grandkids there and the staff went above and beyond. From the front check in, the drinks and food and also the arcade. Each and everyone were so nice! I highly recommend this place for a fun family day or a party. The place was very clean and well managed. Thanks to all the staff and management for making a fun filled day for them. We will definitely be back soon.

Went for the first time after living in East Des Moines for over 2 years. My sons 13th birthday was yesterday and we were out celebrating it. We normally patronize a southern Des Moines bowling alley but somehow decided to try Great Escape. What a super and non regretful idea this was! Of course he loves food and arcade games. First of all, getting greeted upon walking in and explained about the place by Grace T., was nice and rare these days in the norm of most retail and counter people having their faces buried in their cell phones. The place is cool! The lighting, the smell of cleanliness and the layout. We went to the arcade first, choose the $30.00 card and it was plentiful enough for the two of us. I had family come in from out of state we decided to go bowling. I looked up their website made sure everything looked good it did. They opened at 4pm we arrived at 4:15ish. We were informed that all lanes were going to be used by bowling leagues. When I checked online they said lanes were available. I wasn't impressed with how the staff handled the situation. 0/10 I wouldn't recommend.

Update 12/26/2022 Staff was great. The arcade offering was subpar. They took away the duckie machine, my kids favorite. The arcade price is astronomical, example..for $30 you get 60 credits and can only play 10 games of Halo, roughly 20 minutes. The previous experience was outstanding...now it's lame. I do not recommend this establishment. Wait til Dave and buster open in west Des Moines and go enjoy the real experience. Will no longer bring the kiddos here. No wonder it's empty....high price and fewer selections.

Love this place BUT. For someone bowling on a Friday night for MANY HOURS. They didn’t charge us to unlimited bowling for 18.99. Ended up spending $350.00 just on bowling. Not including drinks, food, etc. Ridiculous they didn’t give us the price they advertised for. Very disappointed and will be sharing this disappointment.
