Granny’s Soul Food #2

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time. Finally stopped yesterday. You order at a small window with a menu posted on the wall. I ordered the 10-dollar platter and iced tea. You pay first, so I added a 15% tip because experience has taught me that when you pay before your order is prepared, it's a good idea to not irritate the ones preparing your food. We seated ourselves while they prepared our meal. Someone stuck their head out of the window and said our order was ready. We were handed two styrofoam take-out boxes. We were eating there ? I asked for a plain biscuit but got one smothered in gravy. No big deal :) The food was great, and the home fries were the real winner. We both expected a platter and not a take-out box for dine-in. We expected silverware, not a plastic set

If soul food had a love language, Granny’s Soul Food would be speaking it fluently. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this place was so good my son and I pulled a double-dip and ate there twice in one day—no shame, all satisfaction. Every plate came out fresh, hot, and smiling back at us, like it knew it was about to change our lives. We dove into a greatest-hits lineup: a pork chop sandwich that deserved its own fan club, cheesy grits, crispy fried chicken wings, perfectly seasoned turnip greens, tender turkey ribs, golden fried pork chops, creamy mac and cheese, hearty country-fried steak, crunchy fried okra, and biscuits drowning happily in gravy. The portions? Generous. The flavor? On point. The satisfaction? Full-belt-loosening level. And Sam, who runs the place, was as sweet as

the food was good.we ordered 2pc fish dinner with mashed potato and green beans and 2pcs porkchops with mac n chs and yams. the mac and chs tasted like Velveeta cheese but still edible. the green beans was salty. ordered in store,they charged a service fee if placed at counter.

There is not one negative thing I can say about this restaurant. From the moment we walked into the door we were greeted with a smile. Corbin was extremely knowledgeable about the menu without even looking. He answered every question that we had all while still preparing orders. The food was excellent and such a tremendous variety of options that I ordered three meals. This gem taste truly like your grandma's cooking and not just a name. My family will forever visit this establishment when visiting this area.

New soul food restaurant! Great food and they prepare the food fresh (a little wait, but well worth the wait) the chicken was fresh and hot and seasoned well. The wait staff were great and the cleanliness was spot on. In my opinion, I would refer those to stop by and experience the food here. The 4 star has nothing to do with the restaurant, just the way the dining area was built. Good luck out there!!!
