I've been going here for over 18 years and the family that owns/runs it knows and remembers everyone. They treat every customer like family and they have hands down THE ABSOLUTE BEST half bbq chicken plate EVERY ANYWHERE. Their bbq sauce is to die for and I always buy a bottle when I'm in there. The chicken falls off the bone. When you try to pull it apart it literally falls off like butter and is so incredibly juicy. I've seen reviews about dry food and once in a blue moon they may have a new cook that doesn't really know there kitchen well and it can come out dry but just let them know and they'll replace it with fresh order without hesitation. For the last 15 years, I pass through Littleton NC once or twice a year and for 15 years and I’ve never been disappointed. My favorite here is the pulled pork by the pound or sandwich. North Carolina barbecue done right ! Great, chill, relaxed atmosphere and friendly folks.

My buddy and I went for a hike Medoc Mountain and were famished. We were looking up and down for a good place to eat and our search brought us to Grandpa’s kitchen. We were floored at how good the food was. The BBQ was some of NCs finest and I can honestly say the sweet potato pie was the best I’ve ever had in my life. The serving staff was courteous and friendly and didn’t steer us wrong with their food suggestions. I would highly recommend Grandpas kitchen and plan on going back again and again and again!

If I could give more than five stars I would. The best bbq I ever had. The staff was so welcoming and kind. And the decor is fun! Best hush puppies ever according to my picky toddler!
