Gourmet Butter Delights Soul Food and Bakery

I can’t believe this place has been open all of this time and it’s my first time trying them out. Needless to say, it will NOT be the last. It’s extremely hard to find good soul food in the burbs, and I’m happy that I finally gave them a try. I had the individual meal, which comes with one meat & 2 sides and a cornbread muffin. I chose the fried wings (came with 4) and greens and Mac & cheese. Everything was delicious!! The wings were perfectly golden brown and fried just right. Crispy but still moist and delicious — not overly seasoned either, just right! (No feathers!! I can trust whoever is in that kitchen!) The sides were also good!! Love love love this place! Believe it or not it is hard to find good soul food in the Southland. This place has been open for a year and clearly a hidden gem. I have them 5 stars because they deserve it! Latrice and her mom is super nice! Everything is so good! I don’t even like homemade banana pudding but I promise you this is the only one I will eat! The chicken, fish, and meatloaf is delicious. The Mac and Cheese is delicious! Perfect blend of cheeses. The sweet potatoes, dressing and greens are 🔥!!! I would recommend this place to everyone. 2 things stood out the most for me the service and consistency with how fresh and flavorful the food was. Absolutely delicious, and the owner is beyond sweet and hospitable! My husband and I ordered mac and cheese, meatloaf, and a red velvet cheesecake—every single bite was incredible. That cheese pull on the mac and cheese? Unreal. Am I lactose intolerant? Yes. Did I absolutely devour that mac and cheese anyway? Also yes. Was it worth it? 10000%. Will I be coming back for more? Without a doubt. I completely forgot to take a picture of the cake because we annihilated it before I even had the chance. 🤣 We stopped by at around lunch time on a Sunday did have to wait a little bit since they were fulfilling a bunch of orders before us, which is totally understandable! Since I learned about this place it has been my go to for fresh fried catfish, macaroni, spheghetti and greens. The food is always fresh and delicious. I can’t say enough about the quality. My husband Jose always picks my call in order up for me and my daughter. Yesterday I had the pleasure of tasting their butter cookies and their turtle butter cookies. They were delicious and did not disappoint. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I only wish there were more cookies in the pack for price. On the bright side they do taste gourmet. I absolutely love this place
