Gotham's Deli

Gotham's Deli is a great place to stop if you are looking for lunch in Downtown Smithfield. It is similar to a New York City deli but it is located in North Carolina. The walls are decorated in sports memorabilia and September 11th tributes. When you walk in, you will see the Statue of Liberty. I tried to sit in the Mets section, but that was taken as it is a busy place, so I sat near the Yankees. I was ok with the photo of Don Mattingly and don't hate the Yankees, I just love the Mets. I made sure to spend some time in that section before leaving, seeing the 1986 tributes to Mike Piazza, Jose Reyes, and David Wright. It is just fun to be surrounded by the memorabilia. The sandwiches also follow in the New York theme. I ordered the Mr. Met, it had ham, turkey, and roast beef with lettuc

I am from Long Island. This is NOT a good bagel. Taste like store bought. Its almost $5. I will be going back to Raleigh. I wanted to try more food but I wont. Shame to say you are from Long Island with a bagel tasting like this. If you are from Long Island, you would know the water makes the bagel. For what I got here, it's worth the gas and time to go to Raleigh, Cary, or Wake Forest.

Gotham's Deli is located in downtown Smithfield with plenty of free parking options on the street on a Saturday. We parked about a block away which allowed for a nice little stroll and visits to some of the other shops along the way. Wheelchair accessible and easy to find. Gotham's atmosphere is themed in New York sports memorabilia and articles about NYC. Fountain drinks are located in the back of the dining area and features Pepsi products, sweet tea and unsweet tea. The massive menu features Breakfast options and lunch/dinner options as well. Service was great, more than happy to provide some samples of sauces and chicken salad as well as explaining sandwiches and options. Food was good. I do feel that there were some things that could have been changed to the meals that we ate that

The atmosphere,service and especially the employees are inviting , friendly and make you want to come and sit down to their exclusive and delicious menu. No matter what I order I have never been happier. Mad props to the owner who leads with fairness, integrity and an emphasis on satisfied customers! I love this place. Reminds me of NY style.

The sandwiches were just ok. They reminded me of the sandwiches you can buy from the deli at a grocery store for half the price. My wife's sandwich had some kind of fake bacon on it. The atmosphere is nice and the people were friendly. Parking was fine. Prices are typical.
