Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant

This was one of the best golden krust I have been to in a while. Everything was just right. Rice and peas, food or as other people call it provisions( yams, bananas,potatoes and dumpling) soup ( chicken, beef etc). I mostly had curry, jerk and stew chicken. Curry goat. Fried fish and rice. Festivals and fried dumpling, ackee and salt fish even callalo. Beef and chicken patties. The puddings were fire. They had oxtail but I have had a life time of that so passed. Great spot and location. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Dem close sunday so stock up through the week.

This location is definitely among my top choice for a delicious meal in the Mount Vernon area. Oxtail, curried goat, baked chicken and escovitch fish served with rice and peas are some of my top picks! They also offer a wide variety and of pastry such as patties, bulla, cupcake,gizzada, carrot cake, bun and cheese, cake and so much more to satisfy your sweet tooth. Natural juice blends and a wide variety of ice cream flavors are available. All this is served in a comfortable atmosphere and always with a warm smile. Be sure to visit to satisfy your cravings you definitely won’t regret it!

Currently at 67 S 4th Golden Krust. Around 11:00 a.m. stopped by to get the usual but, today I didn’t have cash. Prior to entering a man standing outside asked for something to eat. So, being a Good Samaritan, I offered to by the gentleman food. However, I was turned down because my business credit doesn’t bare my name. I spoke the young cashier and her reply was “Sir, I’m just doing what I was told”. I informed the cashier that the displayed sign clearly states that I.D. must be present for purchase which I have but, that I’m the Owner of the corporation/business and that it doesn’t have to bare my name. Unfortunately for both me and the gentleman we have not been served as of yet. According to the cashier neither the Owner or Manager is present to rectify the situation. It’s now 11:53 a.

I’m a Caribbean woman I’ve ate from my patty shops than I care to remember and this one was a huge disappointment. I ask for what I want politely. It’s bad enough that you have to wait a long time but then when you get to the counter the customer service person is at the least indifferent and unpleasant. Their attitude is sour. Even though you tell them you can’t here what they are saying they make no effort to be clearer or speak louder. Why would management want someone like that representing their business. In the time I was there I saw people ahead of me leave without getting their order. Golden Krust need to invest in more customer service training to encourage repeat and new word of mouth business for example smile; speak up when the customer says they can’t hear you to make yourse

I’ve been coming to this Golden Crust for years but today I’m writing a review because the food and the atmosphere has just been ok. Ordered fried chicken with rice and peas and everything tasted stale. Was very disappointed because I usually rave about this location as my favorite but it has not been good, sadly. :(
