Golden Buddha Thai

One of my favorite Thai food haunts in the Hudson Valley. On this particular day; I was short on time and wanted to dine in. I called in my order and they had my meal set for me at a table upon arrival. If you love mango sticky rice, I highly recommend it here when in season. And their Thai tea is also phenomenal.

Beautiful place with Buddha decorations, relaxing and calm, we could do meditation. The waitress was very welcoming and nice. Thai tea was very very good. We had chicken satay as an appetizer, red curry, basil Thai fried rice, level 3 it was very spicy but still tasty. Also pad Thai noodle with tomatoe sauce, it was different from some other pad Thai I had before, more sweet/salty flavor. It tasted like authentic Thai spices, it’s a pretty strong flavor. As a desert, we had banana sticky sweet rice with coconut cream, it was light and delicious. We enjoyed every bite!

I have done 3 visits in a year. Each time the food was pretty good. Service is hit or miss. The reason for 3 stars is the appetizers. Receptionist stated most are frozen and warmed up, but what really got me was 10 dollars for 4 little wings and 10 dollars for essentially 1.5 pieces of naan bread. I get the current economy, but 20 dollars for 4 wings and bread is not something I will be returning for.

I can’t recommend this place enough. What a great find! We went here yesterday as a group and the food and the service was impeccable. They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options and they accommodate greatly to make your meals for that. Also, what’s amazing about this place is it’s good for spicy food lovers and non-spicy food lovers. My friends and I love spicy, so we could order things level-5-Thai-spicy, which we enjoyed so much. On the other hand, for our spice intolerant friend, they made things mild. This is the attention to detail that we really value and that keeps us coming back. The drunken noodles were the best that I ever had and the green Thai curry. Save some room for dessert, because the mango sticky rice is amazing. We had a party of 6 and went for a late lunch. I tried to call ahead for a reservation but they don't take any. The food was very delicious, Thai wings are a must! If you want spicy, make sure you get the 4+. Next time I will be asking for max heat.
