Goat Island Restaurant

The menu is mostly fried, so if you're looking for something light, your choices will be limited. But if you're up for fried food, they do a great job! I really enjoyed the catfish and onion rings. They make everything fresh, not from frozen packages. I was surprised by how good the fried pickles were—very crispy. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The view of lake Marion is beautiful, especially from the outside seating. And I don't know if they always do it, but they gave us each a tasty, goat-shaped chocolate with the bill.

So today is Halloween decorations are out the restaurant and bar are ready for a party tonight. So come one come all, going to be a blast, great food bar stocked. Come on down and have a Hallows Eve.

We took a motorcycle ride on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock to have an early supper at Goat Island restaurant. There were four or five parties seated in the restaurant when we arrived, and we sat at the bar. Par usual we ordered margaritas. I'm not a fan of the mixer and asked the bartender cheese lime juice in triple sec, but she did not have lime juice. We agreed to a splash of premix margarita mix. The margaritas came out in tumblers, which is a red flag that the bartender does not know how to make a good margarita. It was decent, but there was too much mix. The staff was very friendly. Asked for my name, and then introduced me to everyone around . The staff was very attentive. The chicken wings were the best i've had in years. They were crispy and came out hot & fast.. Not a typical bar menu. They have Ribeye and seafood on the menu as well.

Great and unique atmosphere and our server (from Kentucky) was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food especially their take on hush puppies. It was crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside with great flavor. Thank you for the warm service and surprise chocolate gift and the end.
